# Available tools

> Tessie's MCP tools let your AI model or agent read vehicle data and send commands

Once [connected](/reference/mcp), your AI model discovers these tools and selects them in response to your natural language requests.

## Read vehicle data

| Tool | Description |
| - | - |
| `list_vehicles` | Lists active vehicles and their VINs |
| `get_vehicle_state` | Returns battery, charging, climate, security, driving and location information |

Use the VIN returned by `list_vehicles` to identify a vehicle in subsequent tool calls.

For example, ask “What is my battery level?” or “Where is my vehicle?”

## Send vehicle commands

| Tool | Description |

| `lock` | Locks a vehicle |
| `unlock` | Unlocks a vehicle |
| `start_charging` | Starts charging |
| `stop_charging` | Stops charging |
| `start_climate` | Starts climate control, optionally setting a temperature |
| `stop_climate` | Stops climate control |

Every command requires a VIN. `start_climate` also accepts an optional `temperature_celsius` value from 15 to 28.

For example, ask “Lock my vehicle” or “Start the climate control at 21°C.”
